About Colin

Colin attended Manchester Polytechnic and then Stourbridge College of Art in the West Midlands, specialising in graphic images on flat glass. Worked for Whitefriars Glass as in-house designer with Geoffrey Baxter.

A keen mountain explorer Colin frequently paints "en plein air" locally to his home and in the Peak District and Lake District, as well as the Welsh Hills and the Scottish Highlands.

Colin lives with his wife Jenny near Northampton. For many years he organised the local annual art show and the local art group.

A Full Member of the Northampton Town & County Art Society, Colin is also a member of the Northampton based Network Arts Group and the Rugby & District Art Society.

Colin has work in private collections in the UK, USA, Sweden, Spain, the Middle East and Germany.

Colin provided the illustrations for Wainwrights 'Pennine Journey' - edited by David Pitt, with maps by Ron Scholes, published in 2010 and featured in 'Inside out - Cumbria & the North West' - BBC TV.  Now available by the same team is a similar volume on the Howgills Fells published  in 2013. Both volumes are now in their 2nd Editions published by Sigma Press.

Currently working with Ron Scholes on a further Wainwright book due for publication by Sigma Press in 2022.
